1. Indian physicist, philosopher, author, activist for environmental protection, biodiversity and women's rights. Critic of globalization and of genetic engineering, advocate of food sovereignty and one of the main organizers of the "Monsanto Tribunal". She calls for seed freedom and the rejection of patents on plants. Due to her activism in the anti-GMO movement (against genetically modified foods), she is often called the "Gandhi of grains". She is the founder of the institute "The Research Foundation for Science Technology and Ecology" (RFSTN), with which she set up seed libraries. She is a member of the scientific committee of the Fundacion IDEAS, the think tank of the Spanish Socialist Party, and the International Organization for a Participatory Society (IOPS). Shiva has written over 20 books and has spoken out in favor of many traditional practices, as in her book "Vedic Ecology". According to Shiva, the agricultural poison glyphosate, which is approved by governments around the world, is linked to the development of autism, diabetes, kidney failure and Alzheimer's. Her criticism of Bill Gates, who now owns the largest agricultural areas on earth and wants to destroy the economy and people's health with genetically modified food, is dismissed in the mainstream media as a conspiracy theory. She calls for civil disobedience against the exploitation of people and nature by multinational corporations, against the enemies of democracy and against global capitalism. She says, "The responsibility for planet Earth begins with each and every person."

Ihre Kritik an Bill Gates, der mittlerweile Besitzer der größten Agrarflächen der Erde ist und die Wirtschaft und Gesundheit der Menschen mit genetisch modifiziertem Essen zerstören möchte, wird in den Mainstreammedien als Verschwörungstheorie abgetan. Sie ruft zum zivilen Ungehorsam gegen die Ausbeutung von Mensch und Natur durch multinationale Konzerne auf, gegen die Feinde der Demokratie und gegen den globalen Kapitalismus. Sie sagt „Die Verantwortung für den Planeten Erde, beginnt bei jedem einzelnen Menschen selbst.“
