"Apartheid is a crime against humanity"
1918-2013. Politician and activist in the resistance against apartheid. From 1994 to 1999 the first black president of South Africa. Since 1944 he has been active in the African National Congress (ANC). Mandela is considered an outstanding representative of the freedom fight against oppression and social injustice. Due to his activities against apartheid policy, Mandela had to spend a total of 27 years in prison as a political prisoner from 1963 to 1990. In 1993 he received the Nobel Peace Prize. Nelson Mandela condemned the US invasion plans on the eve of the Iraq War and lamented America's global legacy: "If there is one country that has committed unspeakable atrocities, it is the United States of America. Who are they to pretend to be the world police? It is the greatest error of the educated class to believe that the political leadership has the situation under control. On the contrary, they are trapped by constraints. They are following an agenda that includes nuclear war as an option. None of these planners will be found the day after."

Mandela gilt als herausragender Vertreter im Freiheitskampf gegen Unterdrückung und soziale Ungerechtigkeit. Aufgrund seiner Aktivitäten gegen die Apartheidpolitik musste Mandela von 1963 bis 1990 insgesamt 27 Jahre als politischer Gefangener in Haft verbringen. 1993 erhielt er den Friedensnobelpreis. Nelson Mandela verurteilte die Invasionspläne der USA am Vorabend des Irakkriegs und beklagte Amerikas globales Erbe: "Wenn es ein Land gibt, das unsägliche Gräueltaten begangen hat, dann sind es die Vereinigten Staaten von Amerika. Wer sind sie, dass sie so tun, als ob sie die Weltpolizei wären? Es ist der größte Irrtum der Bildungsschicht zu glauben, die politischen Führungen hätte die Lage im Griff. Sie ist im Gegenteil, gefangen in Sachzwängen. Sie folgt einer Agenda, die den Atomkrieg als Option vorsieht. Keiner dieser Planer wird am Tag danach auffindbar sein.“
